Resurgence has partnered with Singtel as part of their PVP Ambassadors program, one of the national telco’s esports focused initiatives launched this year. The homegrown esports organisation will be collaborating with Singtel on community engagement activities and social content development. Other ambassadors in the program include all-female DOTA2 team Asterisk* and “Xian” Ho Kun Xian of Team Razer.
Resurgence will work with Singtel at PVP Esports events in conjunction with the PVP Esports Championship. This partnership enhances Singtel’s engagement with the wider gaming ecosystem, with Resurgence providing an established presence and insight into the local gaming communities here in Singapore.
Singtel’s position as the leading telecom in Singapore and its willingness to participate in esports represents an acknowledgement of the esports industry growth in Singapore. As said by Mr Arthur Lang, CEO of Singtel International Group,
“The popularity of esports and gaming is increasing exponentially. Our aim is to grow the gaming ecosystem in the region, further driving recognition in Asia, to provide fans more opportunities to share in their passion.”
Resources provided as part of the Singtel PVP Ambassador’s program will be funneled into the improvement of existing systems provided to the Resurgence players, targeted at their development.
Jayf Soh, CEO & Founder of Resurgence, welcomed Singtel’s groundbreaking move into the local esports scene and encouraging other non-endemic brands to do the same.
“There is a strength in non-endemic brands showing support of the scene, and that is an acknowledgement of esports’ legitimacy within the larger entertainment sphere. Singtel and its partners have acted upon esports' burgeoning potential, and I hope that other brands will follow suit in the future. Together, we can do more to support homegrown players and give them a path to the world stage.”
The Singtel PVP Ambassadors Program runs in tandem with PVP Esports Community, taking campus and corporate leagues to a whole new level of professionalism and excitement.
