Over the course of last weekend, we took the fight to Suntec City against some of the best teams in the world at Singtel's PVP Esports Championship. We fielded a total of 17 players across 3 teams (Dota 2, Arena of Valor, Hearthstone) as the stalwart home team from Singapore achieving stellar results overall.
The Dota 2 team met with fierce competition from the group stage against teams Admiral Dota and Boom ID. It was a great experience for the team as we competed together in our first LAN event. After bringing both KSY and Signify to the tiebreakers, we ultimately finished 4th from the group stage and ended our bid for the championship there. We were able to learn a lot from this tournament.
Our AOV team finished 3rd place in the tournament. From the group stage, we achieved 2nd seed through a 4 - 1 result and were sent to the lower brackets. In a best of one format where pressure was sky high, we managed to hold out til the lower bracket finals game. Ultimately, the top team from Taiwan, Monster Shield proved insurmountable as we lost in the decider game of the match. This would be our best result til date from the AOV team as we achieved a podium finish against teams from outside the Valiant server.
The global official Hearthstone Championship Tour came to Singapore and had a 128 player bracket. Our players went head to head against some of the best card slingers in the world. At the end of Day 2, RSG.lambyseries was the sole Singaporean who made it to the final 8 walking away with 8 HCT points.
We'd like to thank Minister Grace Fu as well as organizers Singtel, MET and their partners for the successful event. Huge shoutout to our fans who cheered for us on both stages, we really appreciate all the love and support given to us.
